Hi, I'm Ariane Duarte from DinnerTool.com. Welcome to the grocery store. Let's do some shopping! Welcome to Top Tomato Superstore in Staten Island, New York. Today, I'm going to shop for my top ten staple pantry items. I always like to have an all-purpose flour on hand. A great way to store this is to have its own container. It helps keep it neat and fresher. Sugars: I always have a couple different sugars on hand. Always a granulated sugar -this is a wonderful container. It has its own top, it's its own storage container. This is wonderful, if you can find something like this. But I always also like to have a light brown sugar and a confectionary sugar on hand. Another wonderful item I always to keep on stock is a nice chicken broth or a vegetable broth. These containers are wonderful. You can lave them in your pantry for up to a month, but when you open it, it needs to go in the refrigerator and you need to use it in the next few days. A wonderful substitute for the broth and to always have on hand are bouillon cubes. These things are wonderful. They last forever, and a little bit goes a long way. Oils are also a must-have. I like to keep a great vegetable oil on hand. That's wonderful just for your regular sautéing or cooking, and then a great finishing olive oil. It's always nice to keep extra virgin olive oil on hand. Vinegars too- I love to have a great balsamic vinegar just to whip up a quick vinaigrette. If you're not crazy about balsamic, red wine vinegar or white wine vinegar - there are so many different varieties out there, but I always like to have a nice balsamic on hand. I always have a couple cans of beans on hand, too, whether it's a black bean, a red bean, a white bean. These are wonderful to throw into a soup or stew or make a puree. They're so easy because they're all ready to use. And of course a couple grains. Always have a box of pasta on hand, because that's so quick and easy, and also a great rice -whether it's a brown rice or white rice. Canned tomatoes: this is actually one of my most favorite pantry items. I make a lot of tomato sauce in my house. Whether they're crushed, pureed, whole, it's always nice to have a couple cans of tomato on hand. Salts: Kosher salt is probably one of the items I use the most. I love kosher salt as opposed to iodized salt for my seasonings, and any of my meats or fish. Iodized salt is good when you want to season your boiling water when you¿re getting ready to blanch some vegetables, but kosher salt is really one of my most favorite salts. Seasoned bread crumbs: These are always wonderful to have as a great staple in your pantry. This is wonderful for last-minute breading to create a really great meal. There you have it! Those are my top ten must-have pantry items. Go to DinnerTool.com to find out ways you can use each and every one of those items.
